A program about On The Road By Jack Kerouac

Thu Oct 11, 2007 at 09:32:01 PM PDT

This is a short entry that I have decided to take a chance on that some of you might be interested in Jack Kerouac's book "On The Road."  My diary is not wordy, so I understand that I'm treading the line.  I'm posting this as a reminder that at one time, our fathers and mothers walked around, talked to people, rode trains, drove around, had coffee plus other beverages,  and had a sense of what America was about, rather than watching Fox, listening to NPR, or listening to Rush for their definitions of what our country was about. In the spirit of OPOL, and teacherken, I offer this with humility for all. Edit tags as you will. I Don't mean to offend anyone with this diary.

Web-enabled, carbon-free electric driving machine

Tue Jul 31, 2007 at 07:20:22 AM PDT

Three pinstriped London investors stand outside an electric car factory in the green fields of the Norwegian countryside, waiting their turns to test-drive a stylish two-seater called the Think City.

But first, Think CEO Jan-Olaf Willums takes the wheel. While the moneymen fiddle with their BlackBerrys, Willums, looking slightly rumpled like the academic he once was, turns the ignition, and the stub-nosed coupe silently rolls toward an open stretch of pavement. Suddenly he punches the pedal, and the car takes off like a shot, the AC motor instantaneously transferring power to the wheels. The only sound is the squealing of tires as Willums throws the little car into a tight turn and barrels back toward his startled guests.

Conyers Wimps out re Impeachment on Democracy Now

Fri Feb 16, 2007 at 05:27:42 PM PDT

On Friday's Democracy Now with Amy Goodman, John Conyers was asked if he did nor did not support the impeachment of George Bush at a recent Capitol Hill demonstration in which he said the American people could/should fire the president.  Conyers wimped out.

Daily Kos re Nov 7: strong, post Nov 7: not so much

Sat Jan 27, 2007 at 10:47:28 PM PDT

This is my first and only diary.  As much as I've gained from reading Kos pre Nov 7, I'm disappointed in the post Nov 7 Kos.  We've lost our nerve.  We've gone meta.  We've forgotten about how Bush/Cheney and the GOP have ripped off America--our Middle Class, our troops, our privacy. Instead, we've decided that since the Democrats won Congress, we can relax, and follow the lead of Pelosi/Reid, which is to say, we've become wimps, just like Pelosi and Reid. No spine.  No resolve.  No guts.  No sense of wanting to save America from the incredible insults from Bush/Cheney.  Conyers has gone silent, after all the pre Nov 7 energy he showed us regarding the Bush/Cheney assault on the Constitution, and more.  KOS has gone soft and has become irrelevant.  Go on, meta all you want, act like NPR, talk around the key issues, ignore them.  At your peril.
