DISTURBING: Domestic Drilling Pollution Pictures

Fri Jul 25, 2008 at 08:08:22 AM PDT

This is rampant and it's happening all over the United States and Canada.

There is no oversight.

It's got to stop!

This is the same sludge pond I posted about HERE.(More pictures and back-story at that link)

It still has a strong stench of sewage from where the drilling company dumped their sewage. It also has a strong chemical and hydrocarbon smell

New Mexico: Big Oil Retaliates with HB-125

Mon Jan 21, 2008 at 06:52:34 AM PDT

House Bill 125 - Sponsored by Rep. Dan Foley
Proposes to Establish the "Oil Conservation Division Oversight Committee"

This bill is widely recognized as the oil and gas industry’s retaliation against the Oil Conservation Division’s rulemaking to establish a strong rule protecting soil, water and public health from oil and gas waste pits. Last fall the industry launched a high profile campaign to oppose the pit rule claiming it is unnecessary and will simply cost operators too much to haul their waste or used closed-loop/pitless drilling systems.

I'm Remarrying My Abusive, Addicted, Cheating Ex-husband AGAIN

Sun Jan 13, 2008 at 10:49:12 AM PDT

I'm remarrying my abusive, addicted, cheating ex-husband again because he said if I marry him one more time he’ll really change this time.

We’ve been married to each other several times and each time I had faith and hope that things would change, but they never did and I was left broken and defeated. This time it’s going to be different because he promised he will change just as soon as we’re married, again.

Numbers expose the Obama hype

Sun Jan 06, 2008 at 10:43:30 AM PDT

I love numbers because they don't lie.

One would think that I also love controversy because I certainly seem to draw more than my share. I realize that this diary will likely draw more controversy but I cannot hide from it. When I examine the Obama hype and see that it is based, to a huge degree, on faith rather than fact, my fear that Americans are, once again, making the mistake of casting their vote based on emotion overrides my fear of controversy. And by golly, this is personal to me!

I was excited when Obama announced his presidency and I even wrote about it on Texas Kaos because I thought that, at last, America could move forward. But his candidacy does not pass my scrutiny for progress.

I will kill you for water.

When the well is dry we learn the worth of water. ~~Benjamin Franklin

Learning the worth of water
The Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's fourth international assessment released earlier this year predicted that "drought-affected areas will likely increase"

In our quest to beat the hydrocarbon energy dead horse we are abusing our environment and depleting the natural resource that we cannot live without, water. Each year approximately 3,066,000,000,000 gallons of water is permanently removed from our hydrologic cycle causing a deficit in our available water budget.

Will you spend $13.30/yr. for children's health care?

Sun Oct 28, 2007 at 10:58:51 AM PDT

First, please recommend!  PLEASE!

Republican's who vote against SCHIP and George Bush say it's too expensive and that we can't afford it while they enjoy the benefits of government funded health care.

Please join me in telling our elected officials that We strongly urge them to give the SCHIP renewal and expansion their support, knowing that we the people who elected them do not consider $13.30 per year to be an unreasonable burden.

Update II: Texas Student Suspended for Wearing Edwards T-shirt

Wed Sep 26, 2007 at 04:54:08 AM PDT

Here ya go! This is a good example of why I home school.

My family would like our fellow Edwards supporters to know that one of his high school supporters in Texas, my son, has received an IN-SCHOOL SUSPENSION FOR WEARING A JOHN EDWARDS T-SHIRT TO SCHOOL, having been told that it is in violation of the new school dress code. Clearly, this violates his protected right to free speech, and is the subject of a federal suit that he anticipates filing within the week, should the situation not be resolved to our satisfaction. We called the campaign to notify, but (understandably) had trouble getting through to anyone who might make the Senator aware of how deeply his supporters feel about his candidacy in Texas. I think this issue would interest Senator Edwards and his campaign staff. We ask that fellow Edwards supporters make both the campaign and their own school districts aware of the fact that political speech does not stop at the schoolhouse door!

Not married? No sex for you!

Sat Sep 08, 2007 at 09:06:06 AM PDT

As a public service announcement, 4parents.gov, instructs parents to tell their children to wait until they are married to have sex. That would be the Bathroom Blowjob Party using our tax dollars to  tell us what to tell our children about sex.

The Parents Speak Up National Campaign has produced "Talk To Me." This public service announcement encourages parents to talk with their kids about waiting to have sex. Click on the image below to see the PSA.

Barnett Shale Drilling: It's not sexy but Noriega for TX US Sen is!

Fri Aug 24, 2007 at 08:09:19 AM PDT

This is not a sexy story. Nobody is getting blown up, although there are likely some who are dying the slow death of cancer caused by drinking polluted water. However, if this continues, it will soon be a very sexy story and we need someone sexy to help solve it. We can live without Iraq's oil but we can't live without water. Very soon water will not only be the sexy story, it will be the only story.

Take a look at this:

This is our water cycle and what you may notice is that we don't get new water. Our same old water continually recycles itself. Another thing you might notice is there is no God sending us more water label in that water cycle. Many people where I live still believe that they can pray hard enough and God will send us more water.

Won't happen!

Meanwhile, in Fort Worth, international leaders met at the Worthington Hotel in a NASCO conference hosted by TxDOT, Tarrant County, The City of Fort Worth and NASCO. Several leaders of the NCTCOG RTC are board members of NASCO.

Big Oil Still Running Roughshod - David Van Os

Mon May 14, 2007 at 07:06:01 AM PDT

Posted on behalf of DVO

In a recent lead newspaper article in one of the big-city Texas daily newspapers, "energy experts" are quoted as predicting the price of gasoline is going to hit $4 a gallon this year. In some places in California it is already over $4.

At nearly $2.90 again in most of Texas, gasoline prices are at a point where last year most people were screaming bloody murder over these prices. But of course, as we all know, gasoline went down during the two months before last year's general election.

We do not have the moral high ground here, Bill!

Ann Wright said, "Bill, I served 29 years.  How many did you serve?"

"Cut her mike off!" Bill O demanded.

NOTE TO BILL:  Don't attempt a battle of wits with Ann Wright.  You are unarmed.

Watch Bill O'Reilly try to put words in the mouth of Ann Wright, who taught the Geneva Conventions to troops at Fort Bragg, on his "Fair and Balanced News Entertainment Show."  It embarrasses and sickens me that this stupid bastard who sexually harassed one of his employees is allowed to air his farce of a show on American television and call it "News."

Plan to shame protesting TX Granny backfires - More Info

Fri Feb 02, 2007 at 05:58:48 AM PDT

Diane Baker, who is a 60-year old grandmother from Texas, went to a protest for "Camp Democracy" in Washington D.C.  last September to lobby our senators and congress people about defunding the war. She was arrested because she crossed a police line to sit on the steps of a building she helped pay for-a Senate office building.  Her sentence was to do community service and, when she returned to Washington D.C. for the protest last week, she served her sentence.

Diane is an ordained minister who works as a hospice chaplain at United Church of Christ in Dallas.  She offered to do counseling as her community service punishment.  Instead, she was ordered to pick up trash off the streets on a blustery cold day with the temperatures in the 20s.

Media cover-up could change outcome of election

Sat Nov 04, 2006 at 06:18:36 AM PDT

Does that headline sound familiar?  Do you remember when it was revealed that the NY Times withheld the story that Bu$h wore "an electronic cueing device in his ear" during the debate?  That story would have exposed Bu$h's lack of integrity and would likely have changed the outcome of the 2004 election.  Just consider how our world might be different today if the NY Times had just done its job.

Well, they're doing it again!

*****The purpose of this diary is to figure out what actions to take. Your ideas for ways to expose this cover-up would be appreciated.*****

TX Attorney General, Greg Abbott, steals from Texans! Media yawns!

Sat Oct 28, 2006 at 12:37:52 PM PDT

Update #2 Please don't call the AP Ausin bureau anymore. They get the hint. Y'all have done a great job! But you can keep calling the others and email Keith. : )
Dear Kossacks,

Texans need your help right now and time is of the essence.  Hit Recommend!

At long last, Greg Abbott's corruption and illegal actions have been exposed.  The Texas Attorney General, the highest law enforcement officer in Texas, has been caught stealing from the people of this state yet the lazy Corporate Embedded Media TM in Texas is not reporting.

REMEMBER who Greg Abbott is:

TX-AG Race: Rural voters turn to Dems

Fri Oct 27, 2006 at 04:02:45 AM PDT

"And what of the United States? We Texans are, after all, a part of it."

These words were taken from a wonderfully candid article by Ronnie Dugger that recently appeared in the Texas Observer. The full article is printed with permission below.  Nothing I've read so far captures the essence of David Van Os' campaign or the importance of his race to the rest of the nation like the words of Mr. Dugger who has known David for many years.

"...if the Republicans keep control of the entire Congress, the only chances left to hold this Administration accountable while still in office abide right here in Texas."
