Primary History - Clinton won just 3 of his first 14 contests.

Mon Feb 02, 2004 at 08:51:51 PM PDT

Clinton won just 3 of his first 14 contests. In fact, he finished fourth four times, often behind "Uncommitted." Here's the breakdown from 1992:

Wesley Clark has got brains and experience

Sat Jan 31, 2004 at 02:48:59 PM PDT

By George S. McGovern

I have decided to support whichever presidential candidate the Democrats nominate. It is essential to the nation and to our standing in the world that we change our leadership. I have thus given careful thought as to which aspirant could best prevail in the general election. All of our candidates are talented, and the more they have listened to the people, the better they become.

I have endorsed Gen. Wesley Clark, partly because he has the necessary intelligence, character, temperament and experience. One flaw: as a young military officer, he voted for Nixon and Reagan. I'm more interested in where he stands today than during the indiscretion of youth.

Clark campaign probably has the most money

Fri Jan 30, 2004 at 02:03:59 PM PDT

Dean is broke

Edwards has always been broke, the money he raised since IA has probably took him from negative territory and just given him some breathing room

Kerry is self finacing, but how long can he keep it up?

Clark has raised 12 million last quarter, and raised 3.5 million in January plus 4.5 million in matching funds about (20 million total)

even if he spent most of the 12 million from last quarter, which he probably didnt, he would still be sitting on approx 10 million right now.

Now we see the fruits of the strategy to skip IA, Clark is the only candidate that has any real money and is the only one that can run an effective multi state camapaign against Kerry.

....just some things Dean and Edwards supporter should think about...

Is Dean running out of money?

Mon Jan 26, 2004 at 08:49:26 PM PDT

It looks like Dean might be running out of money becaus all of a sudden he stopped running ads in Feb 3 states...we already new Kerry was broke, Leib is mos def broke, that leaves Clark and Edwards as the only candidates with any money.

I would guess Clark has the most money out of all the candidates right now, he just raised 2 million on his website plus the 4-5 million in election funds from the FEC...

Clark will come in 1st or 2nd

Mon Jan 26, 2004 at 06:54:47 AM PDT

I predict Clark will come in 1st or 2nd on Tuesday and he will go on to win the nomination.

1)These polls in no way have anything to do with reality, in addition to their inherent errors most of them are polling democrats.

But because there is no bush opponent most independents will vote in the democratic primary, I predict that these independents will vote for Clark and Edwards.

Quotes About Clark

Sun Jan 25, 2004 at 09:47:59 PM PDT

Just when the world is being dragged into the death spiral of an unending cycle of violence by a vision-less, coldblooded collection of think-tank warriors goose-stepping their way into the new millennium with a stunning lack of respect for human rights, the environment, or international law, along comes a man with the proven credentials of intelligence, integrity, and courage singularly equipped by his spirit and experience to lead us out of this mess. Don't listen to what the lying liars say about him; listen to what he says. Wesley Clark is a prayer answered."

Peace,
Kris Kristofferson

"[Clark] seems to be preoccupied, and I'm quoting now, with building legitimacy, with exhausting all diplomatic remedies...  So I think General Clark simply doesn't want to see us use military force and he has thrown out as many reasons as he can develop to that but the bottom line is he just doesn't want to take action. He wants to wait."

Richard Perle, war-monger

"To those who say that Wes Clark has never held political office: anyone who can command NATO, and keep all those forces together, and win that war without losing one American life, knows what it means to hold political office."

Tom Harkin

"There are two stars in the Democratic Party -- Hillary and Wes Clark."

Bill Clinton

"Major Clark is one of the most outstanding officers of his grade in the U.S. Army...an officer of impeccable character with a rare blend of personal qualities and professional attributes which uniquely qualify him as a soldier-scholar. While he has the intellectual grasp of world affairs attained only by the top scholars in the field, he projects soldierly qualities of strength, character, leadership, and above all an unyielding sense of personal responsibility. It is this sense of responsibility which clearly sets him apart from his contemporaries. [He] has the intellectual, moral and physical stamina, coupled with an unrelenting quest for excellence, which insures the completion of every task to near perfection. Major Clark's earnestness, sincerity of purpose and absolute dedication convey a moral force in his work which gives him a significant voice in this headquarters..."

-General Alexander M. Haig, Jr., July 19, 1978

"There are a lot of good Democrats in this race, but Wes Clark is the best Democrat."

Sen. George McGovern

"I have decided to cast my vote in the primary for Wesley Clark. That's right, a peacenik is voting for a general. What a country!

I believe that Wesley Clark will end this war. He will make the rich pay their fair share of taxes. He will stand up for the rights of women, African Americans, and the working people of this country.

And he will cream George W. Bush.'"

Michael Moore

"General Wesley Clark carried out the policy of the NATO Alliance to stop massive ethnic cleansing in Kosovo with great skill, integrity, and determination."

Bill Clinton

"Nothing is more American; nothing is more patriotic than speaking out, questioning authority and holding your leaders accountable."

Wes Clark

"Wes Clark has been a superb battalion commander and will be a superb brigade commander.  He is an officer of the rarest potential and will clearly rise to senior general officer rank.  He will be one of the Army's leaders in the 1990's."

General Colin Powell , May 21, 1982

"I asked a whole lot of my friends who were generals and colonels and majors, who served over General Clark and under General Clark and every last one of them said to me that this is a good man, and if he were leading our nation they would be proud.  [He is a] son of the South capable of making a dangerous world a safer place for everybody.  A man we are going to make the next president of the United States."

Andrew Young

"My Enron experience has brought home to me just how important the tone at the top is.  [Clark has] integrity, he's not going to mislead the American people and he has a longterm vision. I think Wes Clark is just the person to help rebuild and restore the damage that has been done by the way we bullied our way into the war."

Sherron Watkins, Enron whistle-blower

"You will determine whether rage or reason guides the United States in the struggle to come. You will choose whether we are known for revenge or compassion. You will choose whether we, too, will kill in the name of God, or whether in His name, we can find a higher civilization and a better means of settling our differences."

Thu Dec 11, 2003 at 05:02:56 PM PDT

That whole Gore endorsement in Harlem was phony, It did not represent the comunity. The leadership in Harlem and other parts of NY have endorsed General Clark.
